An original studio concept, created to show our approach. This is a fictional story world, not a client commission or a published novel.
01 / Begin with the story
What must the world make us feel?
Navigator Mara Vey must chart a passage to an erased harbor before she forgets who is waiting for her there.
At dusk, Bellwether was a blank space on the chart. Mara waited until moonlight touched the paper. Then a thin silver route appeared, bending toward a shore she could no longer name. She opened her father's compass. Its sealed brass needle turned toward home. For one breath, she remembered the voice that had called her there. Then the route grew clearer, and the voice was gone.
The creative starting point is a quiet emotional conflict: every step toward home takes something from the person trying to return. That tension guides the images, the sound and the way the world is introduced.
02 / Establish the canon
A world with rules worth keeping.
Before making assets, we define what is true. These few anchors give every creative decision something to return to.
- The navigator
- Mara Vey, 34. Silver hair in a side braid; a navy wool coat with brass buttons and a crimson inner collar. She sails The Orison.
- The place
- Bellwether is a harbor erased from maps after a quiet tide. Its absence is a mystery, not a ruin to be conquered.
- The rule
- Erased routes return only in moonlight. Daylight cannot reveal them, however urgently Mara needs an answer.
- The cost
- Mapping a hidden passage costs the navigator one personal memory. Each discovery makes the journey more intimate—and more difficult.
- The object
- A sealed brass compass points toward home, never north. Its significance is emotional as well as practical.
- The boundary
- A grounded, preindustrial maritime world. Wonder lives in paper, tides and remembered places, without explosive spells or modern machinery.

Lead with the emotional premise: what would you give up to find home? Introduce the compass and the cost of mapping before explaining the full world. The intended mood is thoughtful intrigue for readers drawn to intimate, atmospheric fantasy.
Visual bible
Deep navy and weathered ivory carry the world; brass marks objects with personal history. Crimson appears sparingly in Mara's collar. Moonlight reveals, rather than overwhelms. Wool, worn paper, timber and salt-aged metal keep the fantasy tactile.
Audio bible
A small returning motif should feel familiar before its final note resolves. Keep the arrangement spacious and the instrumentation intimate. Soft resonance and a slow pulse leave room for the sea. Avoid a triumphant orchestral climax: the destination remains uncertain.
03 / Give the world a visual language
Recognizable in more than one frame.
A world needs continuity across the things a reader encounters. We carry a restrained material and color palette from a character into places, objects and presentation.
One small choice, carried through.
Brass connects Mara's coat to the compass she keeps close. Her glimpse of crimson provides a restrained focal point against cold moonlight. The same warm-and-cool balance shapes the harbor and the atlas, so the assets feel part of a considered world.
